Process In-Site's Process

There are many steps required to plan, implement and promote a website. In-Site believes that these steps will make the process clear and straight forward.

Step One: Plan the Site
Determine the needs of your business/organization, and how a website will meet those needs. Goals and objectives will need to be identified. This may sound like a simple step, but it requires some real thought and imagination.

Your target audience will also need to be identified. Who are you hoping to attract? What can you offer them?

Set out a schedule. Is there a specific date that you need the site to be operational? Will the launch coincide with any other events?

Step Two: Plan the Content
The website's content should always be updated, but a general idea of what information should be included is important. Remember that the content must be tailored to the Internet medium. Existing material may have to be altered. Will you include files or forms for printing or download? Which is the best format? Should there be external links to other information? These are two of the many questions that must be addressed.

Step Three: Plan the Design
Based on the information gathered in the first two steps, the look and layout of the site can now be designed. In-Site considers all aspects of structure, navigation, interface, accessibility, and versatility.

Step Four: Implement the Design
Once everything has been decided, the nitty gritty work begins. Documents are HTML coded, graphics are created or modified, and relevant scripts (Javascript, CGI) are inserted. There is a fair amount of testing at this stage. Once the site is completed to your satisfaction, we upload it and it goes live!

Step Five: Marketing, Marketing and more Marketing!
Now that the site is up and running, we need to attract visitors. There are various methods and strategies which we may use, depending on the site. Please see our marketing page for more details.

This all may seem a bit overwhelming, but we'll be there to walk you through each step. It's a big process, but the end results are really worth it!
